The pedestrian steps at
Grays Railway Station had been in poor condition for
quite sometime. FibreGrid were called in to replace the
existing substrates and install their SlipGrip stair
treads to provide the slip resistant surface and
contrasting coloured nosings.
The
various staircases, some up to 3000mm in length, were
worked on during several night shift periods using
FibreGrid's own PTS trained operatives. The installation
process was managed so that all staircases were
accessible by pedestrians during daytime hours. This
installation process meant that the railway station did
not have to shut down at anytime.
"Grays
Railway Station were extremely pleased with the
installation. We had numerous comments from members of
the public what a vast improvements the SlipGrip stair
treads had made to the stairs, not to mention the
increased safety issues." Said FibreGrid's Installation
Manager Mark Miles. |
