EdgeGrip Type 'I' in both yellow and white have been fitted to nearly 1000 stairs throughout Sheffield Hallam University. The University provides courses for circa 24,000 students!!
The white EdgeGrip was fitted to the main stairwell in the University. Whilst the original stair nosings offered a form of slip resistance, the white EdgeGrip provided the contrasting colour whilst still keeping the aesthetics of the marble style staircase.
Yellow EdgeGrip was fitted to the majority of the fire escape staircases around the large Sheffield complex.
The major installation works were completed over one weekend, during the holiday period meaning no disruption for students or teachers.
FibreGrid's Contracts Manager Scott Cousin said "Everything went according to plan. Whilst there was quite a number of staircases to complete, with the work schedule we put in place we were able to easily complete the works in time for the students return" |
