Over 250 TactileGrip Corduroy tiles were installed at the top and bottom of the staircases leading to the Cardiff University Student Union in Cardiff, Wales.
The corduroy anti slip tiles were installed to meet with the Disability Discrimination Act guidelines to offer a tactile surface underfoot to help the partially sighed or blind public members entering the building.
The installation took just over 5 days and was able to be completed without the need to close down any of the staircases as the tiles were installed using a two fix method allowing the area to be walked on immediately.
SlipGrip Stair Tread Covers were also installed at the site but the majority of the installation time was taken up installing TactileGrip. |
